The challenge
With a brand new organisation to begin marketing online, SWPL came to Scoot looking for an engaging web presence that would portray them as the trail blazers they are.
Newly-formed in 2022, SWPL needed to build credibility amongst their legion of supporters and partners, and with a new visual brand already in the bag, it was time for the Scoot team to provide a fully-considered and digital presence.
The solution
Before beginning work on the visual style of the new site, our team dedicated time to ensuring the user journey was fully understood. Positioning SWPL as a central hub of information for fans of the women’s game was key, whilst also enhancing the presence of all clubs featured in the top two leagues of women’s football in Scotland.
SWPL prides itself on being brave and bold, so their sports site visual had to match this energy and strength. Dynamic shapes were pulled from their logo to add a contemporary twist to data-driven sites, retaining the heart of the SWPL brand in a digital format.
The results
The website development had a strong focus on match statistics provided by data partners at SFA Live and OPTA provides comprehensive information for fans to engage with. Inclusive of both live match commentary and post-match data, users are presented with a plethora of information that continues to elevate the women’s game at both a local and national level.
The SWPL have been working with Scoot as a partner since the establishment of our organisation in 2022. They have played a vital role in designing and developing our website, successfully launching the initial phase before implementing two further phases to enhance the user experience. They have also supported on a number of projects including matchday programmes, LED boards, and more. The Scoot team are always responsive and proactive, offering solutions and support above and beyond.
