The challenge
Following the continued development of the women’s game across Scotland, Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) required a change to their digital comms to keep up with ever-changing demands from players, officials, fans and partners.
Providing structure and support to women’s football, from grassroots games to League One and Championship games, SWF was ready for an online presence that provided functionality with a visual-led approach that captured the imagination of players and fans alike.
“If girls can see it, they can be it.”
The solution
Being a long-time partner of SWF, Scoot was prepped with a framework of ideas and data to allow us to provide a bespoke solution that would offer longevity and efficiency.
Clear user journeys were a crucial outcome of our strategy phase, ensuring that fully considered Calls to Action (CTAs) were placed at key areas on each page that are relevant and engaging.
With three distinct user types to focus on, each with a different goal, a strategic approach was required before design could begin.
In-depth integrations with data providers like Comet and OPTA gave the Scoot team a chance to flex our development muscles, ensuring fixture and results information is continuously fed to the site dynamically with little manual input required from SWF staff.
Dispensation and friendly requests are now digital-first, offering ease of application for users and ease of management for SWF staff, meaning precious time is saved.
To continue the growth of the game, building and maintaining commercial is a key goal of the SWF.
This meant building their new site to act as a dynamic promotional platform to utilise by partners like Barclays and ScottishPower, encouraging an engaging yet commercially viable website to further support SWF’s goals of growth.
The results
Whether it’s a fan looking for details on the next game, a player thinking about moving club or a match official needing guidance on policies, the new SWF is built to suit all users.
We’re thrilled to play even a small part in the growth of the women’s game with both SWF and SWPL and can’t wait to see what comes next!
